The 1970s CIA program "MK Ultra" experimented with mind control to create the perfect super-agent. And, predictably, it went wrong. Very wrong. Pay close attention or you'll miss the clues sprinkled throughout this complex story

Seems confusing but keeps evolving, really good. Seriously underrated. If you want psychological thriller very good, if you want Bruce Willis not so much. Would definitely watch a second movie of this, want more.

Miracle in Film
The Monarch butterfly caught in the scene was actually a monarch and was actually caught the last time we were filming the chase scene. After three long runs with Randy following me, filming as I chased non existent butterflies; I told Randy, “Wouldn’t it be something if this last time a real monarch appeared and I caught it just like I use to do with my father before he passed away.
Sure enough the last time I ran a real monarch appeared and I chased it with Randy filming, catching it at the end of the run. It was truly a miracle for this film and fitting dedication to my father. God bless him. Of course we released the monarch butterfly and set it free. Watch the scene in Shadow of the Monarch here.

Dedication
Shadow of the Monarch is in memory of my father, Tom Luksetich, who lost most of his memories towards the end of his life due to Alzheimer’s. One memory he didn’t forget was when he use to take us out to catch butterflies - especially Monarchs - the king of butterflies. My father also loved spy films like the original “Bourne Identity”. That’s why I made this film with the help of my partner Randy Kent and so many others for my father who I loved very much. I wish he could have seen “Shadow of the Monarch”. I know exactly what he would have said. The same thing he said so many times before to me. “You done good!”
Well Dad if you were here today I would say to you thanks for raising all us eight kids and “You Done Good!”
